How are your bonfire / fireworks nights going ?

I was out on Saturday ( Ken Webster hypnotist at Blackpool - thoroughly recommended) and playing table tennis tomorrow night , so sadly no parties for us this year

It’s great though to see the smiles on kids and adults faces on Facebook etc
I really wish there could be maybe 3 or 4 weekends on which displays err on - would take away the big wait until next year and possibly be better weather at other times of the year

How are yours going ? Have you still got your ‘ big one’ to look forward to ?

We went to a friends on Saturday. They had fire pits (rather than a bonfire), fireworks, bonfire food. It was great fun.

Here is DS10 enjoying his sparkler.

I’m a killjoy!
Our old dog used to be terrified of them! Our now 1year old dog isn’t sure about them.
She doesn’t like the “bombs” that go off, neither do I. There are lots of children with special needs who also find fireworks frightening. The NHS has to deal with burns from them too.
I’m sure a lot of people don’t know what they are celebrating!
If we must have them they should be for organised displays and QUIET ones.
This is my opinion, lots don’t agree.

I agree with every word you say. I'm surprised that so many people like celebrating an act of terrorism! OK the plot was discovered but plotting to blow up the King and the Houses of Parliament is definitely terrorism.

our last dog was fine with them in the house but the new pup isn't, we also took the girls to organised displays when they were younger, I am now starting to come to your way of thinking now though its not just bonfire night now its bonfire fortnight!

My poor little dog is a nervous wreck and my youngest son is terrified of the whole thing, the big bonfire & the fireworks hurt his ears so it’s a total non starter for us.
