That’s fair enough! I have an A class at the minute, got the new model March 2019 and absolutely love it... have had no problems at all! I just commented on the design as a few people in this thread have mentioned not being keen on the Evoque interior.. all personal preference of course!
Lots to think about OP. Happy shopping! It is a somewhat stressful experience but new car day is a great day x |

I bought a new E Pace in March after driving pretty much everything in that class and it really stood out, absolutely delighted with it, amazing car and fantastic service from Jaguar.
My friend had an Evoque from new and it really put me off them, I love the look of them, but it literally spent more time in the garage than on her driveway, there was always something wrong with it, she changed it for a Porche Macan in the end which hasn't given her any issues.

We had an Audi A5 quattro sportback and loved it.
Then bought a mini clubman and hated it. We now have an Evoque and it's our favourite car to date. My son though works for JLR and it's true that the cars are prone to mechanical problems. He would only recommend buying new (with the finance) so that any problems are covered or adding a warranty. Our friend bought a second hand one and it cost him a fortune after a few months. |

I bought a RR Evoque in July - late 2015 model and has done 22k miles. I LOVE it. Have had no problems with it, get 40mpg and I find it so comfy to drive. It’s the top spec model (Dynamic Lux) but also has most of the extras of an Autobiography so massage seats, full dual screen tv, high beam assist, 360 cameras etc. The only negative is the boot size but I’d say it’s pretty average for a SUV boot and the same size as the Kuga (I had a ford Kuga before the Evoque). If I wanted a bigger boot I would have bought a Disco!
The reliability issue reports I’ve seen have mainly been from the newer models, pre 2016 models seem to be more reliable from what I have read. We needed a pre 2016 model anyway to tow our Airstream as they started reducing the max tow bar weight from 2016 onwards. We bought ours outright from a garage so can’t comment on any finance deals etc, sorry.

Thank you all. We visited Land Rover and have bought an Evoque. It’s second hand (one owner), limited edition with good mileage, plenty of extras and has 6 month of the original LR warranty on it topped up to 1 year by LR with option to purchase a further year after that. Service is due in 18 months so we’ll probably change it then.
Hopefully picking it up on Saturday 😊 |
