Thank you all. This info is all extremely helpful. It’s important to get all opinions/experiences whether good or bad.

I am still looking. DH has settled on the Evoque and now I’m struggling to find a used one plus working out cost of change on a new one. I find the whole thing a big headache and remember why I am driving my kids cars and spending my money on holidays etc - at least they are enjoyable! (Pre- pandemic)

Like the look of them. Only know 1 owner well and he had lots of issues to start with where it was in the garage for weeks at a time. They eventually sorted it out and it was pretty reliable for then. He didn't replace it with another when it came time, he actually liked our Hyundai Tucson and bought one of those to replace it.

It was on my wish list for a while but I don't like the back window.

My friend has one and seems happy with it.

Sorry to hijack this thread but I was so hoping to come across this comment! Got my eye on a GLC or a GLC coupe next.

OP is this something you could consider? The new Mercedes interior design beats all others for me, hands down.

Just a quick addition, the new Evoque (launched a couple of years ago) may look a little like the old model but it's an entirely new car... I think a lot of the issues being mentioned here are about the old model

We've always had BMWs but I fancied a change and got an Evoque. Only kept about 28 months. Had no oomph, didn't like the sat nav and just generally didn't feel anything special! Went back to BMW. Got an X4m at the moment which I love!

Love mine,no issues with it at all
Bought from new, very reliable no issues in sales or after sales
Bought this in a change from a coupe car, very comfortable to sit and drive in, so won’t be my last land rover purchase

My daughter has a q2 and loves it, for you I would go for a automatic for relaxed driving. The q2 is a small suv but should have plenty of headroom for your 6ft passengers.

As a Mercedes owner and member of many of the forums don't expect it to be any more reliable than a Land Rover Evoque though.

Japanese and now Korean brands are putting them to shame these days.
