I'll add that we may do a last-minute Feb half-term (15th - 22nd Feb) trip again this year, and getting a villa just before we go doesn't cause me any concern at all - there will be loads.

I know there are loads ... my must have are a spa/jacuzzi and preferably 5bed (though now looking at 4) with pool heat less than 15min drive...

Having been 13times before I've never ever had this problem prices just seem to be higher this time

Plenty of choice matching those criteria on the AirBnB link I posted above.

Both places we used last year were 5 bedrooms, although we only needed two on one trip and three on another. Both had pools and a jacuzzi.

Also don't be shy in contacting an owner and asking if they can improve the price you are getting too. I always do this and most of the time we get a better price that way. Nothing to lose - they can only say "no"!
