Best homemade freezer meals?

Hi everyone,

I am currently expecting my first baby (September due date) & the one tip I keep hearing from everyone is to batch cook some meals for the busy days ahead. I have bought lots of Tupperware & am ready to go... except I am severely lacking in inspiration! All I can think of is chilli, spaghetti bolognese & lasagna!

Have any of you got any tried an tested recipes that freeze well? We aren't fans of seafood / fish but everything else is a goer!

I also do curries (Indian and Thai), sweet and sour chicken and cottage/shepherds pie.

For cottage pie/lasagne I buy the foil trays with the cardboard lid (around 10 for £1), so they come straight out of the freezer and into the oven.

All of the above. I also batch make creamy mash and chopped carrot and swede. Its so easy to pop sausages in the oven and defrost the mash and veg in the microwave for a quick comfort meal.

I used to batch cook lots of things, most of the above, but don't bother now. I must start again, as only DH and I home and I don't enjoy cooking every night. The foil dishes are best for straight to oven. But get the plastic trays if you intend to microwave the meals. And label well! A frozen curry will look very similar to a home made chocolate ice-cream! As my sons found out when we were away once, and they defrosted the wrong tray!

I make & freeze a basic tomato sauce that can be "chucked" into pasta & used as as a sauce for fish/meats etc.
Batch make fishcakes/burgers.
