California Dreamin...

Cast

Me – Dissuziq Loves disney has been to WDW 6 times and thought a change would be in order especially after a successful trip to Las Vegas in December.

DB – Dave Non Dibber Dibb mickey taker but loves disney has left all planning up to me. Wise boy.

We are going to San Francisco and Los Angeles for 12 days but with living up North and having to London for flights to San francisco and back from Los Angeles it spans over to 14 days.

Having been to WDW for 6 times in a row we thought that a change was in order and looked options available away Florida, Disneyland Paris Maybe, was greeted with eye rolling at the suggestion so I hatched a plan that would get me to the USA, shopping has to be done with $ to £ ratio soo good, well it was when I booked it.

The Plan So Far.

Saturday 14th June.

Travel from Manchester to Heathrow BA flights booked (no Luggage jokes Please). They cannot loose them from Manchester to Heathrow Can they? Bus or taxi to hotel

Booked Premier travel Inn (I was economising), the one on Bath Road, Any Good? Its my first time at this airport and I took pot luck with the hotel.

Sunday 15th June

Virgin Flight to San Francisco, Not the posh seats but its direct flight, without having to change in the USA.

Arrive at 1.30pm I have booked Virgin Transfers to the hotel.

Sheraton Fishermans Wharf – our hime for the next five days, While in San francsico we plan to do the following.

  • Alcatratz guided tour, insure with either day or night will see when we are there.
  • Hop on hop off city bus tour
  • Shopping
  • Day trip to Carmel and Monterey

20th June

Virgin America Flight from San francisco to Los Angeles, booked extra leg room for $15 extra even though the flight is only 1 hour long.

Beverly Hill Hilton – Will be our home for the next 7 days. We did think of staying in 2 locations in Los angeles but laziness got the better of me

While here we plan to do the following

  • City tour including the beach cities
  • Stars home tour (naff but has to be done)
  • Universal Studios
  • Disneyland ( I sneaked it in for I day)
  • Shopping ( wonder how that got there
)
27th June

Virgin Flight to London Heathrow followed by
Ba flight from Heathrow to Manchester

Anything I must do or tips that I need to know please advise. I have travelled around the USA a lot but these are new destinations for me so anything I have missed let me know.

If I'm reading it right, you haven't booked your Alcatraz tour yet ? according to various reviews I've read, you may find the night tours sold out if you leave it 'til you get there, and may not get the time you want for a day tour.I've already booked our night tour for August !

Have just checked the Alcatraz site - looks like the night tours are already sold out between 15th and 22nd June

I have booked the Alcatraz tour its the only one in San francisco I have booked. Thought we would wait and see for the others as they seem to have lots of choice. Thanks for the advise much appreciated as the West coast had had to be done from website advise and hearsay.

Decided yesterday to look at the trips and book them in LA so we have booked

Unversal front of line passes as we are there for 1 day
Disneyland with transport from hotel

and (has to be done) stars home tour.with city and beach cities included.
