Hiya,

DH mentioned today that he would like to visit the beach for a day while we're in Orlando in July. I've read about people visiting AMI...how far a drive is it from west haven? Could we do it as a day trip? What is there to do? Places to eat?

You can it's about 90 minutes drive for us we are on the opposite side of Champions. Gate from West Haven so drive time will be the same for you. We go every time we are out it is our favourite beaches particularly Coquina at Bradenton Beach. Have done it in a day but we usually stay over and watch the sunset. Also fit in some shopping at Ellenton Outlets, cheaper than Orlando.

Ooh thank you - not sure we could fit in an overnight stay - we have so much to get through! Will take note of that beach, thank you. And definitely the outlets! I suppose we could stay, watch the sunset and then drive back if its only an hour and a half?

It's a gorgeous island we stayed there for a week...def do-able for a day though... lots of lovely places to eat and the beaches are beautiful
