Places to go on the Gulf Coast

We are flying over the Florida and spending a few days in Orlando for our Stepdaughters wedding before driving down to Rotonda West for a couple of weeks.
What places would you recommend visiting while we're there.

For a relaxing day in beautiful surroundings, I would definitely spend a day at Fort Desoto.

We are at Rotonda West now in a fabulous Dibb villa
We are only having a week here. We've been to Boca Grande and to Stump Pass. Both really nice unspoilt beaches
We've enjoyed just relaxing at the villa and have eaten at home mostly but can recommend South Beach restaurant at Boca Grande and here in Rotonda we had a really great Italian dinner at Nicolas Restaurant. That was one of the best meals we've had so far this trip which began in Miami
We went to Miramar Outlet mall on our way here. It's a really good outlet about an hours drive away. We've also been to Port Charlotte Town Centre which was okay for a wander but a bit pricey compared to the outlets...
We only have one more day and then we move on to Orlando but have thoroughly enjoyed our time here
