I think you'll have an amazing time. I'd definitely spend time at Epcot - with young children we didn't really know what to expect but it has lots of character meets.
I'd also plan in some time at the villa just to play in the pool and rest - it gets really hot! You might want to think about seeing some wildlife too- ours loved the visit to the alligators - lots of places within driving distance - and airboat ride (they get earphones for the noise!) Also seaworld we enjoyed with young kids - lots of animals including the manatees which are lovely. If you have the budget for discovery cove, this is a fabulous day with or without the dolphin swim. I think if you have a loose idea of what you want to do, that's fine and be prepared to just slow down to your sons pace - may is a nice time to go. You could visit celebration for ice cream and terrapin spotting |

I should add - if your son is into superheroes and or Harry Potter then islands of adventure might be nice to meet the hero's and there are smaller rides too. But clearly will add to the budget. Ours loved islands of adventure at that age with Dudley doo ride, barges and dr suess
And spongebob! |
