I stayed in Wick for a night up near John o groats and remember a pay at pump Tesco, but that is the only one I can think of.
Would it be worth going close enough to home not to need petrol, but then go as remote as possible?
thanks, that's good to know. We have managed 12 days in a hired motorhome Cornwall/Devon/Somerset/Dorset/Wiltshire and also a week in Wales with P-A-P so maybe we need to stick to England until things change, to be on the safe side. Thanks again x

Fort William might be too far but highly recommended remote accommodation

have you got a MH? If so, would you recommend that or a cottage and go out for days? We have hired a MH in the past and although we loved it you do have to think carefully as some places aren't very accessible lol!

I think if you are travelling in the Highlands of Scotland a MH is a hinderance more than a help on the roads! We find a car easier on the narrower roads

Cant advise on Scotland but in 2020 we booked a cottage in the Yorkshire Dale and were able to go on lots of walks but still stay well away from people. We stayed in Brunskill Cottage near Hawes.
