Renting DVC points can save you a lot of money, but for popular resorts like this you generally need to be ready to book 11 months in advance, when booking opens. In future, you can either look on boards like this to see if anyone has points available or go with a broker like David's (dvcrequest/). As it's such a small resort you'd have to get quite lucky to find someone on here renting points at the right time, so you would probably be better going through a broker who will have many members on their books.
Thank you, that is great info, makes sense and something to note for the future. Thanks

Also on the Dibb, I doubt there are many “owners at Grand Californian” or even less likely to be renting points. Owners can book at 11 months. Non owners at 7 months. And I mean 7 months exactly, our time 1pm which is Member Services 8am on the exact 7 month check in.

I own at WDW and I’ve struggled at 7 months to get a studio in GC

So as advised a big broker like David’s will have lots more owners able to jump in at 11
Months for popular studio accommodation
