I had hoped to take DD (15) to London to see a few shows in October but she doesn't like crowded places and the thought of using the tube does not appeal to her. Maybe one day as I used to love going with my late Mum.
If you stay close to the west end you can get away with doing everything on foot with maybe the odd taxi. County Hall Premier Inn is a fab location and a nice stroll over the bridge to Covent Garden area

Thanks, I'll have a wee look into it but she almost freaked out in the busy Food Court at Chester Zoo last week and had to go outside so might need to work on her anxiety a bit more before going to London.

Where does your train get into?

Mine goes to Euston and I walk from there to the theatre. It’s a nice straight walk that takes 25-45 mins depending on which theatre it is. There are loads of eating/drinking options etc on the way or near the theatres.
I work over near Paddington so do jump on the tube after the show, but I much prefer walking and will happily walk miles in London

Thanks, I hadnt really thought through all the options fully due to her first reaction to busyness and tubes but she loves musicals and shows. We'd be coming from near Edinburgh so possibly plane or train but might look into which shows she would prefer and then try and work out best place to stay where we could walk to the theatre. Lots to think about!

Loved Mary Poppins, Blood Brothers, Something about Jamie, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, Hairspray, And Juliet
and so many more, would go see them all again apart from Lion King, don’t get me wrong it was good but just didn’t come out with that feeling of wanting to see it again,

I feel the same about Les Mis but I can't say it in the musicals forums! It's hard to choose a favourite ever but I've loved Hamilton, Come From Away, Anything Goes and Book of Mormon out of the shows that are currently running.

My all-time favourite was Sunset Boulevard with Glenn Close and John Barrowman.

Sorry, this is no help but I couldn’t choose out of all the ones I’ve seen either, love musical theatre - all so different but all sooo good !
