Princess cruises new testing protocol
Princess has dropped its requirement to have an observed test (from today).
‘Unless otherwise communicated, all guests ages five and older must take a viral COVID-19 test (PCR or antigen) within three days prior to embarkation on the ship. This can be done at any time in the three days before on the day of embarkation. Guests no longer need to provide a test certificate, however they will be asked to confirm that the test has been taken, with a negative result, as part of the pre-boarding health declaration at the cruise terminal/airport. Guests under five years of age are exempt from pre-cruise testing. (Please note that these updated guidelines apply to the UK and EU but not to the U.S., Canada or Greece).’ |

Thank you, just sent a link from the Princess site to my brother. His family are all booked in for testing on Thursday so have time to cancel now.

We are doing the enchanted princess transatlantic cruise and are still unsure if we still need an observed test as we have European ports first

Princess has announced that from 6 September they are dropping the requirement to test before boarding from all departure ports (except in Canada Australia and Greece, full Panama Canal transit and trans ocean) for cruises of up to 14 days. Details princess/news/news_r...ed-guests.html

I wish Disney would follow suit. I can’t get excited with worrying about testing.

As Princess is owned by the Carnival Corporation, I expect their other brands will soon follow suit. Costa, P&O, Carnival, Cunard, Holland America, Aida, Seabourn and P&O Australia.
