We ended up using cash quite a bit at restaurants at Disney as they didn’t all have mobile scanners to bring to the table and it meant either taking the card away (or my phone when using the dining credit) or we had to go with them. It just seemed easier to take cash out.

If you like cash (I do), That’s a problem in London now, so many places don’t take cash these days.

When we were in London in May, a majority of places did not take cash. So no card, no service.
As for cash here in Florida - I live in Bradenton and was on the way to work when I decided to stop at Wawa for a coffee. There was a big sign on the door that the card machines were down and you must pay in cash. So in my opinion, it is always a good idea to have some cash.

We took $1000 cash and put the rest on Halifax clarity card. You can add gratuity to credit card but servers get taxed in gratuity this way, they don't with cash so preferred a cash tip!
