Glasgow to Manchester Airport train

Considering a Manchester departure but don't fancy the drive home.

Anyone travelled via train?

How did you find it?

Thanks

I have 😊
Was Edinburgh to Manchester though
Was a few years ago
The journey out was great we large party of 15 so plenty company etc and stayed in premier inn over nite
To be honest journey home was bit of a drag cos we all tired but did sleep on train
I would do it again if the price was a big savings

Not from Scotland but North East, only way for us now.
Getting to Manchester was never a bother but going home after little or no sleep wasn’t pleasant. Last time we drove I managed to fall asleep and wrote car off a couple of miles from home. That was after stopping for coffee, having a walk around, windows open and music on. Vowed then that the train takes the strain.
I put a train alert on for dates needed and soon as airport savers become active I get at cheapest ticket. Used to be 12 weeks but speaking for trans Pennine it’s usually well in advance of that

DW and friends recently travelled that route with Transpenine. They found it very good and was less than £40 each return.

Oh dear, I have just caught your post. There is real problems with Transpennine at the moment. It. There is scarcely a day goes by that the Edinburgh/Manchester airport train doesn’t get cancelled due to staff shortages. I don’t use the Glasgow train but I know our local MPs are very critical of that service too.
I really hope they get sorted out by the time you need it.

We did it once from Fife. Was fine going down, we were like zombies on the train home. God knows what people thought of us 😂
