No a chill out day here as only the 4 of us. I will wear my regular everyday clothes. I will do my hair and makeup though.

We always dressed up when I was a child. It was the only day of the year I ever saw my mum in heels and a party dress. I’ve always dressed up as an adult and bought new smart clothes for the children, even though it’s just us celebrating at home. However this year due to DS 8 having Covid I’m going for warmth and comfort as we’ll have all the windows open to let him out of isolation for the day.

I always remember my parents wearing nice clothes on Christmas day and as a child I'd be given a new outfit of some description wrapped up under the tree which I'd then wear for the day.
Now I'm an adult, we yend to host Christmas at our house for both sets of grandparents. I tend to just wear my jeans with a sparkly/ nice Christmas jumper.
However, this year will just be myself, DH, DS (9) & DD (4) (DS has Covid) and we'll be in PJs to begin with whilst opening presents and then just whatever we're comfy in. To be honest, the children will probably stay in their pjs.

Me and hubs literally wear the same sort of clothes we wear any other day if staying in the house (whether ours or someone else's) so generally jeans/leggings/jeggings and T-shirt. Couldn't imagine getting all dressed up to slob about the house. Hubs mum always gets something new and sparkly but I just don't get it since she is mainly in the kitchen cooking the dinner. 🤯

Usually its a full face of make up and a sparkly frock and heels all day for me - all worn while doing the cooking!

I just love it!

But this year was just the 2 of us so we went out for a long walk and it was PJs on when we got home!
Felt weird!

I have always dressed up on christmas growing up and as a child. A pretty dress, tights and usually my slippers or fluffy socks 🤣. Last year I was very unwell with a very difficult pregnancy so I only had the energy to get downstairs after being stuck in bed for weeks. For the first year ever we also expected no visitors. It was actually really nice to spend the day in pjs.

This year I was in pjs until we had our breakfast, then I got ready and dressed up but before dinner was cooked I ended up putting my pjs on as i was uncomfortable and knew we had no visitors again this year!

We still live in a small South Wales village and have done all our lives, and yes we do dress up for Christmas Day. Not heels and full on night out outfits, but a cocktail/nice meal out type of dress for me and smart trousers for DH but paired up with our slippers 😂

Bad enough I have to go to Christmas lunch, no way would they get me there if I had to dress up. Wore my Buffy the Vampire Slayer "Bored now" t-shirt this year.

Dressing up is NOT my thing. I so love working from home :-)
