Freezing uncooked beef Wellington?

Hi all,

Any reason why I couldn’t freeze an uncooked beef Wellington?

We have so much food here- I know Maidmarian - yes we were too greedy! 😂

It’s a Christmas one from Asda and the box tells you to cooked from chilled and store in fridge. It’s also very specific about not microwaving, but no mention whether or not it so freezable.

Is it a bad idea? I also have a turkey Wellington that I am cooking today that does say is freezable, but the beef is smaller and whilst the turkey one will be ample for everyone that I have here today, I think the beef on its own might not be enough as there are six of us and it looks like it will only feed four (the turkey one will feed 8-10 I reckon!)

I don’t see why not. I would let it defrost properly before cooking though rsther then microwaving or cooking from frozen.

Saying that, we had beef wellington for Christmas last year. I thought it looked small so I bought two and we would have been fine with only one. It feeds more than you’d expect.

Thanks Bev, I might do that then and freeze the turkey one as none of us are overly hungry! 😂😂
