April 2022 Itinerary
Hi - we arrive in Florida on 1st April for our first trip with our 6 year old daughter. Would really appreciate some feedback on our proposed itinerary. Still needs a bit of jigging I am sure, and it feels pretty packed but we only have 10 days.
We've had to base some of our park days around the character dinings that we were able to reserve, probably wouldn't have gone back to back if we'd been able to get other times. Also not entirely got my head around how the park hopping works... We are staying at Universal Royal Pacific Resort, so likely to spend a few evenings at City Walk. Friday 1st April 15:10 Arrive @ Melbourne Orlando / transfer to hotel Dinner somewhere near hotel Saturday 2nd April Morning - Magic Kingdom Afternoon - Magic Kingdom Evening - Magic Kingdom if we can manage it! (I understand MK isn't generally advised on a Saturday, but there's no way our 6yo would understand why we're not there on our first day!) Sunday 3rd April Morning - Hollywood Studios 2PM Hollywood & Vine Minnie's Seasonal Dine Lunch Afternoon - Hollywood Studios Evening - CityWalk for dinner, back to hotel Monday 4th April Morning - Animal Kingdom 2PM Tusker House Africa Character Dining Afternoon - Animal Kingdom Evening - no plans currently Tuesday 5th April Resort Day / Shopping Outlet / Dinner offsite (I-Drive?) Wednesday 6th April Morning - Epcot Afternoon - Epcot Dinner - Cape May Cafe Evening - Hollywood Studios (Fantasmic - if open) Thursday 7th April Morning - Universal Studios Afternoon - Universal Studios Evening - Universal Studios (Mardi Gras Parade) Friday 8th April Morning - Island of Adventure Afternoon - Island of Adventure Evening - City Walk Saturday 9th April Morning - Volcano Bay Afternoon - Volcano Bay Evening - Magic Kingdom Sunday 10th April Currently free to allow for any parks we want to return to / do anything we missed Monday 11th April Flight home at 18:25 so will probably do morning on resort or one last park visit before heading to airport Thank you |

Here are my thoughts.
I don’t think there is anything wrong with Magic Kingdom on a Saturday, all the parks are busy on a Saturday and Magic Kingdom is busy everyday. I have been on a Saturday and it is no worse than other parks. I think it is optimistic to plan for morning afternoon and evening though, I think that is too long in any single park. If you were wanting to stay for fireworks, then maybe afternoon and evening would be more realistic. The resort day on a Tuesday seems a bit of a shame, I have always found it one of the better park days. If you think you can keep going then I would try to get a park in this day or maybe a water park. Conventional wisdom is to avoid Disney and Universal water parks at the weekend, so I would rethink Volcano Bay on the Saturday. We don’t do a lot of shopping but if we do, then we do it on Saturday or Sunday.
