We bought the Premium ones and they are now valid for when first bought as they send you a confirmation email straight away. I'm assuming these would be the same. You've probably already done this but check out the black out days as they Discovery passes maybe to restricted. Xx

thanks for replying, other than July or august I think it is most other months are all good as we always tend to go during school time on weekdays when the parks are less busy so suits us really well, we couldn't see the benefit of the extra cost of the other passes

Assume you have seen they currently have a sale on, and so if you can go term times etc then good value. even if its a blackout date you can pay to go i think its £20 for alton towers currently.

yes lol thats why im looking at the discovery pass, we plan to do alton Thorpe and London eye at the least and we usually do alton twice in a year so the 3rd park we visit after that its costing us nothing and if we buy it now it will get us a visit early next year too!
didn't know you could pay £20 and go in blackout days too as we do like going around Halloween for scarefest so thats useful to know too

I would do the maths and check to see if the Silver pass would be worth it for you. It might not do, depending on how you visit and what you tend to spend, but right now the silver pass is only £50 more than discovery and you will get access on more dates (including most of Scarefest, which means not having to buy the £20 upgrade tickets) and 10% off food, drink and merchandise.

Depending on if you buy food and merchandise at the parks you could make that extra outlay to buy the silver pass back.
