Alton Towers: Plan of Action For Doing Big Rides
Hi all
Last minute question here! We’re going to Alton Towers tomorrow. I haven’t been for years! Can anybody suggest a strategy for getting on as many big rides as possible? Also are there any websites that give you a touring plan for a day. Thank you. |

first plan is aim to get there before it opens as you can get in before offical opening time (sometimes). Download the altontowers app and check what is open when the park opens. If 13 and rita are opperating head to the back and do them first. Use single rider for smiler. Do galatica and nemisis towards the end of the day as queues times drop. Then wicker man just suck up a 60 minute queue.
Remember its queue lines which close at the advertised time not the rides, so if your in the queue you ride. |

Thanks for the tips Figment05, I’ve noted them down! We’re staying at splash landings hotel for 2 nights as my son has a football tournament nearby so we’ve got 1 day at the park. We’re aiming to set off early tomorrow for a 2 hour journey and aiming to arrive around 9am to get our tickets. I hope we can get on all of the big rides!

We go quite often and do a different plan of action, get to the park for 9.30 head straight to Galactica and Nemisis which are walk on at that time.
We then head to Wickerman doing Duel on the way, then its Oblivion, Smiler, Rita and Thirteen (Thirteen if there is a drop of rain seems to remain down most of the day, it is so hit and miss) Heading back again this weekend x

Similar to figment.
Start at the back if the rides are open and then head towards nemesis and galactica on your way out. |
