Late Lunch Cheesecake Factory

This was 5 mins walk from hotel. Really enjoyed this. He had a massive breakfast burrito and I had the lunch sized Louisiana chicken pasta. I had strawberry lemonade to drink which was lovely.

We shared the coconut cream pie cheesecake for dessert, server kindly split one portion over 2 plates for us.

Cheesecake selection:

More bus tour afterwards.

That evening we had a chill out in hotel room watching tv, just had some snacks.
Well I just saw pics of the cakes & I know where you are 🙊
Even Hubbie did as we had the Celebration cheesecake last month, in your photo with the sprinkles on top
Always do a visit to CF ❤️

Day 8 - Continued

Washington DC

Late lunch – Founding Farmers

This is a small chain, farmer owned. Unfortunately, there isn’t one in Florida.

We booked and needed to it was busy. Had an amazing lunch. Highly recommend.

I had chicken & waffles with mac and cheese.

He had a farmer platter combo plate (cheeseburgers, chilli dog, ribs) and daughter had kids chicken tenders and fries.

I had lemonade to drink.

Shared beignets for dessert and daughter had a cookie they bake to order. We were so full! A reasonable $75 plus tip for what we had. My main was $18.99.

We had a rest at hotel then had a nice walk at sunset before getting on bus for a night tour. This went out to Iwo Jima memorial and Georgetown as well as sights we’d seen in day all lit up. Good but cold. He braved the open top deck, we sat undercover at front.

Snacks again in room in the evening.

Day 9

Washington and NY and plane

Saturday 19th February

This was a travel day. AmtrakTrain to NY. 2 more trains to airport and then plane home. It actually all went smoothly!

Breakfast – Hotel

Last hotel breakfast. They had red flag corned beef hash which has beetroot in today. We liked the breakfast but preferred NY one.

CVS/Walgreens

We went shopping for train snacks and things to bring home.

Lunch

Snacks on the train

Airport

Got a NY Starbucks mug and we ate at the busy food court – went to Artichoke pizza (NY Chain where we went on Greenwich food tour) I had artichoke pizza as I’d liked it last time, he had Sicilian.

Plane

Flight was full on the Saturday home. It was when the weather was stormy in UK. We were delayed as incoming flight was late but not too bad all things considered. Food was ok it was curry & rice for dinner and a cereal bar for breakfast before we landed.

Dog Collecting

Ollie had a nice time at his Grandma's house.

Final thoughts/Next plans

Had a fantastic time. Looking back still can’t believe we went. Had lots of places we wanted to eat we never made it to.

Hotel free breakfasts saved us a lot of money and were convenient. I would have liked to go to a diner one mornng but we never got around to it.

Weight wise I was only up 3 lb after our hols which was good. I ate what I wanted on holiday but walking about 20,000 steps a day helped.

Next trip Florida August 2022 all 3 of us. Can’t wait. Plan is Disney (offsite) 10 nights and Disney Dream Cruise to Bahamas.

Thanks for reading.

I really enjoyed following on Instagram but you cant beat a full round up !
The breakfast place in T2 looked great , May give it a go next time we fly from Manchester
The food tour looked good , the donuts looked delicious 😋
I do love a free breakfast, it sets you up and on a short trip where time is valuable it saves looking for places too
Looking forward to the rest of your report
Emma x
Thank you. Would definitely recommend the breakfast. Shame we are T3 in August. The free breakfast saves a lot and like you say it saves time and hassle too.

We’ve just booked flights to NY for a 5 night trip next Easter but no hotel booked yet. Taking lots of notes as that food tour looks great. DS will be 16 so looking for things to do that aren’t just sight seeing 😀
The hotel we stayed at wasn't fancy but was fab location and breakfast was good. Would stay again. Daughter enjoyed just being there seeing everything. She would have shopped more if we had more time. She hated the cold!
