Using points for Cruise

So I didn’t want to go back to WDW, and wanted to sell our points but hubby has convinced me to give it a while so we’re thinking of blowing our points on a Disney cruise next year. Anyone done this? Would have to be Caribbean as Europe cruises need a lot more points. My worry is we have sailed a good few times now with DCL but not as 2 adults and no children. Anyone done this?

We love cruising as a couple. Don’t book direct with DVC though, check out DVC rental store cruise exchange, you can ‘pay’ for your cruise by renting your points. $18pp at 7-11 months at all resorts bar OKW/SSR/VB/HHI.

I posted a thread of our experience booking the EBTA with them next year, it’s ‘cost’ us 300 points for a verandah stateroom. Booking through DVC direct would be more than double that.

I have done it before but you do use a lot of points, another Way I have I have done it is to sell my points via David’s rentals and use the money from that to pay for
The cruise.

David's also has a cruise swap option, if that's something that interests you. I also would never use the points to book the cruise directly. It's dreadful value.

Whatever you do, don’t exchange direct with Disney for a cruise.

We went through DVC Rental store and they have been nothing but amazing.

Being from the UK, because we are swapping the point value for a cruise, we won’t have to pay any tax on it.

We’ve swapped 169 points and bagged a 4 night cruise in the magic next august 2 adults and a child) in a verandah state room. Amazing deal

Agree with others…. I’ve used David’s and ‘paid’ for cruise by renting points through them. You also don’t have to pay the $95 transfer fee
