Upgrades at checkin

We’re flying LHR-LAX PE. ATM their is no upgrade to UC, but looking at the seat map UC is virtually empty. Would it be possible to upgrade on the day? I did this years ago to MCO. Has anyone done this? We travel in a months time x

Isn’t there an option to bid for an upgrade ?

You can always ask at checkin but it sometimes shows at OLCI too (price will be the same) but best to ask at ticketing desk if checkin is busy as they will or any just say no (they wont have the time to process it at the moment) so go right to ticketing desk first

We upgraded on the day from PE to UC LHR to SEA. There were people holding signs ‘ask me about an upgrade’ which we happily did, and paid using points and the small difference in taxes from PE to UC. I’m sure the costs are different now so no point me sharing those.

Upper to LA is usually full - many book at last minute as its a mainly a business/film & tv(movie) flight rather than tourists and they book last minute - I have never seen a spare seat in Upper on this flight even in Dec (and Jan) upper was over full with PAX getting bumped
