Clarity on park reservations

Can anybody provide clarity on what I am hearing about having to make park reservations.
We are a party of six three adults and three children) and are staying at the Cheyenne from
Sept 18th - 21st.
My daughter is cast and has a silver gate pass that enables herself and three others to access the parks. We therefore need to purchase two passes.
The cast passes work like APs and have blackout dates, but we are not seeing any blackout dates during our trip. My daughter assured me that we do not need to make park reservations when using this cast pass.
Am I to understand that for the two purchased passes we need to make park reservations and does this mean we cannot hop between parks.
I am perfectly au fait with the park reservation system in WDW but had no idea it was operating in Paris too
Thanks for any help

Hi,

If you are buying annual passes they would not need a reservation if you are staying in a Disney hotel.

If you are buying regular tickets then they would normally have to be either dated tickets, or registered. Though if staying in a Disney hotel they need no reservations.

Have a great trip

You're welcome.

Though if buying tickets and not annual passes confirm with DLP they don't need a reservation if you buy them separately from the room at a Disney hotel.

They are pretty responsive to messages through Twitter.

We have booked the room at Cheyenne separately because we only needing to buy tickets for two and not the whole party so did not need a package.
However, the tickets we do buy will be dated
