HAL Westerdam cruise to Alaska

DH and I have just booked this cruise for next May. DH has never cruised before and I have only ever been on one a few years ago on the MSC Meraviglia around the Med. It is an All Star Irish Charter cruise featuring entertainment by some big Irish country stars which will suit my DH. We will have 2 days in Seattle prior to the cruise and nearly 2 days afterwards again in Seattle. I’m a massive Grey’s Anatomy fan so looking forward to seeing Seattle. We are also planning a shopping trip to the outlets.

The cruise stops at Juneau, Sitka, Ketchikan and Victoria, BC and passes the Hubbard Glacier. Does anyone have any tips as to what excursions to do? Should we pack clothes for every season?

How does Holland America Line compare to MSC Cruises? The MSC Meraviglia was sparkling new when I was on it but the service left a lot to be desired and any issues we had took days and many requests to be addressed.
