We’ve booked a few different car hires this trip as it was cheaper. If you go on the BA website under car hire and do car hire only, put in Tampa international airport as your pick up destination, and put Orlando (all destinations) into the drop of location, and it will give you hotel options for drop off.

I’ve done one where pick up at Hard Rock and drop off at Tampa airport on the same day for £79 - Ford Edge or similar

Yes, prices for carhire is easily double what it used to be. Last time we were there two weeks rental was around £359; it’s well over £800 now. Might be worth sending Andy an email and see what he could do.

Re gettransfer. To be fair I have not used before so can't recommend from personal experience yet. I figure if there is a problem I can try uber as back up. We have no specific demands on the day we transfer. I probably won't risk if I had a flight to catch but can report back experience afterwards.

Just type 'Cabana' and it will come up with Universal Cabana Bay

Was just thinking about this as flights for our dates next year are a lot cheaper flying into Tampa.
Was thinking of an Uber as don’t want to hire a car

I'm guessing from your countdown your holiday is over, can I ask how you got on with your transfer from Tampa to Orlando and would you recommend them. Flights to Tampa for my dates come out soon and are significantly cheaper than flying into Orlando so need to size up the cost of transfer and whether it is stress free. Thanks

Yes trip is over. It went really well. Our driver was Yvonne and she sent texts to confirm before (she asked if she could pick us up a bit early as wanted to fit in another client.) She also messaged me on the day to confirm pick up time as she needed to stop to get gas. She hadn't been working as a driver long but she was lovely and I would definitely use her again. I suppose it's going to depend on the driver you get. She had a high rating and was excellent value for money.

Looking into this as an option, as flights are significantly lower in / out of Tampa compared to Orlando.

I've had some encouraging quotes back but not 100% sure on reliability. By any chance do you remember what the "car" your driver had listed as it seems to show make / model of cars that are on offer rather than a driver / company.
