Freestyle mugs at universal?

Hi,

I’m looking at getting the freestyle mugs at universal, but have a couple of questions for those that have used them.

Are they a pain to carry around? What do you do with them when you go on the rides?

I see there is now a machine in citywalk, is there a problem with filling them up and carrying them into the citywalk restaurants? Thought it would save on a few drink purchases with meals, or is that a big no no?

I’m just trying to work out if they are a hassle to carry around or a brilliant idea! 😂

I am thinking the same. In 2014 we got the Minion mugs and frankly only used them for half an hour, they were so heavy and awkward.

You can use your own bottle at the Freestyle machines if you are just getting water. I an thinking of doing this.

Absolutely essential purchase for the 4 of us. Re-activation is only about $11 for the day and they can be used constantly (only 15 minute wait between refills if I remember).

They fit in the free lockers which we did when we went on any of the rides - just make sure they are completely empty obviously as we've seen people not make sure and there are rivers of juice coming out of lockers

We didn't take them into any of the big restaurants but did at Panda Express, etc with no issues and I don't think anyone would bother to be honest.

The biggest feature of them for us is the fact that they have multiple "zero" options on there whereas the kiosks only have coke zero or diet coke.

I Love my freestyle cup, when I go on a ride I just empty it, and shove it in my bag, fits in a locker easily, but alas I have once been a casualty of a locker above mine springing a leak (as it were) but no harm was done.

All in all I think the Freestyle cups are great value for money, Peach Fanta is my fave option, I drink gallons of the stuff while I'm out there!

I am universal now and considered getting the mug. However I have the one in the resort for length of stay (cabanna bay) and am using the freestyle machines in the park to get ice cold filtered water which is free, using my chilli water bottle. Having the freestyle machines at cabana bay is enough soda and prefer drinking water at other times as don’t drink much soda at home.

However if don’t like water then based on prices of individual drinks it would be a good purchase
