Additional drivers arriving a day or so later.

How did you manage when additional drivers arrived a day or two after you!

We had considered a one-day rental and then start a new rental when the other members of the family arrived at the airport.

But just read on USCarhire that the additional drivers can be added part way into the rental at any local depot.

So has anyone who've booked the Alamo Gold package with 3-additional drivers gone to depot's such as at the Disney Car Care Center and added the extra drivers without any fuss or additional cost!

And as recommended by USCarhire, will need to take a copy of the original Gold voucher when adding the extra drivers.

Thanks! 🚗

You don't always have to be there/show driving license to be the 2nd driver in my experience. We went with dollar last time

Avis wouldn't add at the airport but it only took 2 minutes at the office across from Walmart

Just be sure to dohble check the paperwork when they add a new driver: we have the Budget Gold package with 4 drivers through DFCH and when we popped in to an office to add my brother on they did it immediately but then handed me back paperwork showing an 80 dollar "additional driver" charge. Obviously I challenged it and refused to sign, and they then spent 20 mins phoning various offices to confirm, but if I hadn't been paying attention...

Spouse doesn’t. Everyone else does.

A few people on here have said they’ve done it. You just turn up to any branch with them and get them added on.

The last time we hired was with Hertz. DH asked for me to be added at the desk as he had joined their club. Said I was added and off we went. DH drove to Sarasota where we were staying for a couple of nights before heading to Naples. I happened to be tidying up passports, air tickets etc when I had a look at our rental agreement and noticed my name wasn't on the receipt as an additional driver! Thankfully I hadn't driven the car, or worse been driving and had an accident! Stopped off at their office in Sarasota and got it sorted following day. Totally agree with checking the paperwork from now on!

Most don’t require the spouse to be added anymore. The spouse is covered as an extension of the main driver.
