Our experience of AK rope drop and fop today
Though I'd post this as it may help others.
We weren't planning on doing rope drop or even fop today but as we were up and ready early we thought we'd give it a go. We're staying at Contemporary and got the bus at 7:45am. We were the only ones on the bus. Arrived at AK just after 8am and were straight through security check with no queue. We joined the queue for park entry and it was back to the ticket windows. At 8:15am the let everyone through to 'enjoy the oasis' aka queue for pandora 😉 We made our way through with the crowds and we were then held on the bridge to Pandora until 8:40am. Walked through straight to fop, by the time we got there the standby time showed as 60 minutes. We passed under the ride entrance at 8:55am and were done and off the ride into the shop by 9:25am. Standby showed as 180 minutes when we exited. Dd got a banshee that we had sent to the front of the park so that we didn't have to carry it. We had a fp for navi river 9:05-10:05 which we made by 9:55am. Really pleased we did it, fop was amazing, easily the best ride on property at the moment imo. We have a fp for it later in our trip which we're really looking forward to now. |

Great stuff. Fop is amazing.
Glad your dd got her banshee as well. A very successful day. Enjoy the rest of your trip.

Our rope drop today was similar. We did have to queue at bag check though - we got there about 7.40.
Our chamber broke on the ride, so we had to get off and go into another. We were out by 9.20 even with getting off one ride to another. It was amazing. I cried at parts of it. Trying to work out how to get on it again! |

We were there this morning too, although not until 8.15am, as we already had a FOP Fastpass for 9-10am, so our aim was standby for Navi
We were on Navi by 8.40am with no queue whatsoever, as everyone else was headed for FOP, we then went straight to FOP and they opened the FastPass queue for us even though it wasn't even 8.50am and we were off of both rides by 9.05am! Great ride, but we wouldn't of wanted to be joining the queue for FOP at 9am - it looked like it was going to be at least a two hour wait judging by how far around the line was snaking at that point. We are going back to AK on Tuesday for our last park day and the plan will be to be at the gate for 7.45am to attempt to be nearer the front to try the standby line for FOP |

Sounds good. Not sure if we'll try or not but good advice if we do.

Really useful thank you. We're going to have to attempt rope drop if we want to do this ride next week with two children in tow so will post our experiences too.

Similar experience yesterday. Staying offsite and arrived at 8am. Straight through bag drop and queuing on the bridge by 8.30. We luckily had fp+ for FoP so went straight onto River journey at 8.45 and were finished by 8.50!
