I flew out October 26 and back yesterday direct with Virgin as said no long layover in Gatwick
Not a big fan of Virgin but if it's the cheapest other route I prefer to Gatwick is Icelandic normally a much shorter lay over but for me it all comes down to price in the end as we go 3/4 times a year

I would never pay the price Virgin charge from Glasgow, its nearly daylight robbery.
We booked with BA via LGW for November and what we paid for car hire and PE back it would have cost us that just for Economy with Virgin. Also we never fly at the weekends as immigration is always a nightmare at MCO. We are usually in our hire car within 40 minutes of landing midweek which makes up the time waiting in Gatwick. Coming back it forces us to stay awake longer so not tempted to sleep and then suffer from jetlag for days.

I was thinking of travelling to Florida next November but had resigned myself to having to go via London , if we could go from Glasgow it would be fab. Will keep an eye out for flights

I've been keeping an eye on this and looks like they are flying on Fridays from October 30th through November.
They tend to drop to one flight per week after the October school holiday.
Bit of a pain as we have booked next year's trip for a Saturday arrival based on this year's flights.

I flew with Virgin from Glasgow on 2nd November last year (a Friday) for a two week holiday, we prefer direct flights. I paid £580 plus miles for two adults.

Try icelandair as a very very good indirect alternate, I would go this way to avoid London to be honest
