Crazy Alamo Brits Price - User Error?

I've twice done a quote for a compact car hire, pick up at SFB from 4 -18th June 2020 and it's coming in at almost £2k . I'm thinking I must be doing something wrong as wasn't expecting it to be even half of that. Any advice please?

Brits sometimes see's these crazy price spikes. It'll drop back down in time.

In the meantime, book with a website who offers no deposit, free cancellations and amends the price if it drops .. Currently showing at £355.

OP. A good price from Andy I must say.

Brits is nuts regarding prices for certain dates. For your trip their cheapest car is a Premium SUV at £636 which isn't bad. But a compact is £1839.

One suspects their computer needs some work done on it.

it's all based on supply and demand. I suspect that they have actually sold out of Compacts for your dates, hence they quote a stupid price as they cant fulfill what you need, and would need to give you a car of a higher class.

Thats why prices between providers differ so much, and at what time you book. I looked the other day for a large SUV, Hertz were cheapest by about £1k. But they were about £1k more expensive for a full size saloon.

Best advice, check them all and book when you see a price you are happy with. But also keep checking as you get nearer, as you never know a better price may come up.

So how can Alamo,( not Brits) and DFCH, quote way cheaper prices for the same car from the same place and the same parent company (Alamo)?

The interesting part is that Alamo Brits is just a Discount structure of Alamo. You are hiring from the same company so the non availability would affect both, not just one.
