I booked direct with Disney for Disney Animal Kingdom for 17 nights and then when the cruise was released I persuaded DH we wanted to go on a 4 night cruise (having done a 3 night last year).
This is what we have now got. We go in September so bear that in mind. 4 night Disney Cruise in a verandah room 12 nights Animal Kingdom Lodge (standard room) $200 gift card Memory Maker 14 day tickets DDP for our Disney part of the stay Total cost for 2 adults £4552.90

We have booked it ourselves. 4 nights cruise, our first, followed by 14 nights at the Beach club.
We booked the cruise direct so that if we have to cancel we get the deposit back if canceled before a certain time. When we were getting quotes from Virgin for the hotel only part they wanted over 10K meaning they were charging over 4K just for the flights. This is for 2a and 2c in October.

Definitely don't book it through Virgin, as if you need to make amendments, or cancel, you will lose a lot.
Booking direct (or through a US TA) will give you 100% better T&Cs.

We've booked everything ourselves for next Aug.
10 nights AKL (bunk bed room) DDP + Memory Maker + $200 gift card = £4026 4 nights Disney Dream inside stateroom = £2542 2a + 2c (although my son is classed as a Disney adult, he'll be 11) Obviously we still need to book flights and there will be spends on top, although being on the dining plan we won't be taking as much with us. I'm sure booking it yourself would be cheaper than with Virgin...
