Some questions about a day trip to DLP

We are thinking of taking my daughter to Paris for her 21st, travelling on Eurostar , doing sightseeing and spending her birthday at DLP. What can you do in a day? It will be august so busy I’d expect, is it worth doing the best of both parks in one day? We also want to take her for a meal for dinner, somewhere there does nice steaks preferably in the park. What other special things could we do to make her day memorable? Thanks 🙏

We went during school holidays in late 2021. It was really busy as I imagine it would be in August. It was hard to get much done, but if you are happy to maybe do less rides and more taking in the atmosphere, it could be worth it. The two parks are of course very close together and you can easily move from one to the other. I think you would need to plan for a very long day.

We also went in September last year, best meal of the trip was Auberge de Cendrillon which I reviewed here, I think I said it was the best meal in any park in any location to date. It has a beef fillet on the menu, it is described as beef casserole, but it definitely was not what we call casserole.

On the earlier trip we tried Bistro Chez Remy. That had been my must do restaurant as I wanted to see the theming. And I was glad that we got to see that, but overall very average food for a very high price. This one is reviewed here.

There is the Silver Spur Steakhouse in the parks too. Although the menu doesn’t suggest steakhouse to me, it only has one on offer. I also haven’t been here but I don’t think I have seen good reviews.

Avoid all weekends and public holidays. Do your research so you know which rides get long queues. Decide where to eat and allow time (a table service meal can take over 2 hours).

Basically all the things we didn’t do on our first ever visit…!

We ate at the Steakhouse (not Silverspur, which is a different restaurant and we didn’t try so I can’t compare) in Disney village when we were there in September and found the steaks and service very good. Although our favourite meal in DLP was in Walt’s, it felt a very special restaurant to eat in and the food was delicious and very different from the other restaurants. The service was also very good, definitely suitable for a special occasion

If your DD is a Marvel fan, the themed buffet meals at Art of Marvel hotel or PYMS kitchen in the Avenger's area are great fun. There’s also a quick service Avenger’s restaurant in the Avenger’s area if you wanted a quick lunch before a meal later in the park

Edited: would agree with Claudette about Chez Remy, it has lots of great reviews but we found the meal here average and our least favourite of the trip

We used the RER train to go into Paris for the day from DLP which was easy to use and didn’t take very long at all

You'd need to make it a long day to get the most out of it, eg. from park opening to perhaps 9pm at night. You should also look into buying the Premier Access passes to fast track some of the big lines if you want the full experience. In August it will be busy and the popular rides will have queue times of 45 mins at best, usually 60 mins plus. Try to do a weekday rather than a weekend as well.

Thanks for the replies, her birthday is a Saturday so it’s going to be busy. I suppose we can do the two park ticket and see the most we can, book a table for 7pm because we have to see the fireworks. We could always go back if we like it, I last went 23 years ago and stayed in Cheyenne and my daughter wasn’t born. Fireworks at 9.30pm is the right? Thanks 😊

I do like the look of the silver spur steakhouse, my lot like a good plate of food and I worry some of the others won’t fill them up.

For portion sizes, here’s a selection of our starters, mains and desserts in The Steakhouse Disney Village. We paid for the HB meal plan and felt the portions were really good
