Anybody else trying to get a PS5?

Is anyone else trying to get a PS5 at the moment? There's been a few stock drops so far this year, but every time the website crashes with so many people scrambling to get one!

I've got as far as entering my card details a few times with retailers and then suddenly the stock is gone before the order goes through.

For the first time in a long time I'm just not interested in a new playstation.
I got on launch day the psp, ps3, PSPGO, psvita & ps4, but the ps5 just doesn't I terest me at all. There's none of the new games that interest me (not even sackboy & I love little big planet!) & I just don't see the need to spend all that money on it.

Now if they came out with a new handheld & allowed remote ay on it (& added ps5 remote play on the vita) then I'd be really interested!

For now I have a vast library of games for all the above & I'm also loving the Nintendo switch.

I'm not but my DH has been waiting for ages. He keeps me informed about the lack of stock, I try to look interested . I reckon we're more likely to get a vaccine first and we're both under 50 (just).

I feel like I've given up. my 2 sons (14 and 22) wanted one for christmas and it drove me crazy, in the basket, not there at checkout, then crashes etc, actually did get 2 ordered from currys in November then they cancelled them saying they shouldnt have released them that day?!

I gave up christmas week and have been half heartedly looking so been in virtual queues but not got much further. I keep telling myself (and them!) they'll be in good supply soon!

If you follow the stock websites and forums they reckon its been quite easy to get one, but definitely not my experience!

DS12 wanted one for Christmas but we couldn’t get one. We’ve told him he can have one when they become available instead. He’s absolutely fine with that. I’m not stressing about checking every website to see if they have any. I’ll wait until they are aplenty in the shop.

We have been trying to get one for my son since Christmas. I've more chance of getting a TurboMan I think.

Yes we still trying, son wanted one for xmas but couldnt get one so we said we would get for birthday (April) but thats not even looking promising now.
Why the shortage? Brexit/covid?

I think the shortages have been mainly attributed to Covid and lack of assembly. I've been following some twitter accounts that announce when stock has dropped. Managed to be no. 250 or so out of 71000 in the queue when Currys last dropped, but as others have experienced too got it in my basket then it all crashed! Same with Argos and Game.

I have to say though it's been a tiny distraction from everything else. I've on a mission to get one!

Of course there's a few people on my FB feed looking all smug with their PS5s 😂
