Weekend in London

We are just on our way back from London this weekend . Hard to believe Covid is/was ever a thing when you enter central London apart from shops closed down . Absolutely packed out everywhere , pubs, shows , restaurants (many need bookings as they couldn’t cope ) , tubes full and Oxford street as busy as ever . I can see why Boris isn’t doing anymore when the capital is back to normal and flooded with tourists again . The crowds were a bit overwhelming at times but it seems London is over the pandemic .

We’ve just been away to Manchester and Trafford centre - felt the same. Absolutely packed and barely a mask in sight.
Most restaurants we went to were understaffed, terrible service and below par food too.

If you look at infection rates for England's cities, London is faring really well - given that it looks like life is normal then that is very encouraging.

It was strange being there at first but it does make you realise life is normal . We didn’t watch the news once and just enjoyed living again even if still being careful . I wasn’t ready for getting on the tube without a mask and sanitiser just yet but about 50% werent .

We were in London in September and it was so quiet! I was really surprised to see as many people still wearing masks. Never had any bother getting a seat on the tube, and got into bars/restaurants without reservations. I've never been to London and not seen queues for the London eye, and the 4 days we were there it was always a walk on! (We were staying behind London eye!)
