Lateral flows will be acceptable according to the BBC. At least they are usually cheaper abroad than the UK. This is just going back to a few months ago before they allowed vaccinated passengers to not require testing, so its not as if this situation is anything new.

So obviously there is a lack of info out there at the minute, but do you think if we took our free NHS LF tests with us we could use those?
Unless the airline requires to see proof such as our fit to fly ones when we go out there for example...

If you have purchased a Day 2 Rapid Antigen test we ask you to consider holding on to the test temporarily as we await further information on rules for pre-departure testing back to the UK. In which case, we will convert your Day 2 Rapid Antigen Test to a Nurse Supervised Pre-departure Rapid Antigen Test.

So have emailed them to ask for a pre-departure test.

If anyone’s in NYC atm they are letting tourist do pre departure tests for free.

The pop up tents around the city will preform your Antigen Teats for free! Just turn up wait in line with your passports and 20 minutes later your results will be emailed with a certificate to fly.

The codes are for the day 2 not pre departure.
