Here now, quick round up…..

A busy week of decorating, a fire and fireplace replacement , a couple of appointments and my daughter without a car needing lifts to and from work in snow, wind and fog I could have done without arranging all the extra tests, culminating in needing a test prior to returning home to be arranged on the morning of travel
Managed to get all this done but would avoid click and collect at Jet Parks MAN. Had to queue along with all waiting for drive through testing.

Flight fairly uneventful, some in airport and on aircraft not compliant with mask wearing.
Crew reminders throughout flight.

CDG seemed quiet when we landed T2B.
Other terminals manic.
Apparently our dates coincide with a Spanish and Italian public holiday so the parks are busy.
Transfer to Sequoia via RS transport booked on Saturday, paid in cash at end of journey.

SL only been open since 1/12 so I assumed that was the reason for the slight ‘damp’ smell in and around the ground floor room we were allocated.
Room was clean but we were in the middle of a huge family group of enthusiastic Italians whose children congregated in the corridor to play games, sing etc.

Our room safe was out of order which I reported.

After visiting the Earl and a quick look around the village we returned to find the corridor group and increased substantially, the safe wasn’t fixed and the smell seemed worse so I requested a change of room which was granted.

The plan was early start to take advantage of the magic hours.
I’ve mentioned previously that we are more late night park goers so it was no surprise to find ourselves arriving for breakfast at 10:50, it ended at 11.

The advantage to that was, as we made our way to Disneyland Park lots of people were heading out.
Sadly, BTM, Phantom Manor were down and queues elsewhere were long. Managed Space Mountain after queuing for less time than advertised.
We looked around the shops, watched the parade, had a snack and went to the Studios.
By this time the rain was back😒
More shopping, ToT and Crush before park closing.
Back to hotel for dinner.

I have never seen the park so busy with the exception of NYE and possibly when we took part in the inaugural 1/2 marathon.
We have been on the same dates previously.
Seen lots more wearing of ears, hats and bags than usual- I think lots of people making up for lack of WDW.

Mask wearing is generally adhered to, noticed the ones who don’t or who have them under the nose or chins do tend to be English.

Showed our Covid pass to get a wristband on check in, this is changed daily for a different colour so no need to show the pass when going into the park. We walk so not sure about the bus.

I’m glad we came, I think it will be different to previous visits, we probably more relaxing.
SL looking very festive in the lobby but overall a bit tired.

Off to dinner now.

I had hoped they had given SL a much needed refurb during its closure, but perhaps not. Shame.

It was 1147, I’m sure they will have fixed the safe. It seemed to be a big part of the ground floor with the smell. We moved to the 4th floor in the north tower which is fine.
I do prefer a higher floor TBH.
It is lovely to be here, very festive. 🎄

Yes, I assumed they had too.
There is some scaffolding outside on the walkway from Sante Fe but not sure why.

Just to add, I didn’t really book meals in advance.
The app had little availability and I’d never bothered before always booking via the concierge.
I’ve been unable to book Remy’s or anything at Hotel New York.

Eaten tonight at Hunter’s grill.
Buffet is delicious, plenty of choice, very clean with no cross contamination staff friendly and helpful. Would recommend.

Can I ask which pre-departure test did you use & have you any teens with you that need testing? Thank you.

Sorry, only just seen this.
We used Randox, click and collect. Self tested within the time range and had the certificate very quickly to download from an email.

Same with pre return tests, we’ve brought those with us and will be doing those in the morning.

No children or teens so can’t help with that.
