Taking bank holidays away

Hi

I feel I know what is going to be said but here goes. We have arranged over Christmas and the two bank holidays to spend some time with my partners family as we literally haven’t seen them for two years. We were due to go down for longer but workplace did not approve leave so decided to just use the statutory bank holidays on the Monday and Tuesday to make it four days

Today my partner has come home and said they’re taking the bank holidays away this year as it’s too long to be shut (pharmaceutical) and they have to work - where do we stand? We have booked travel and hotels etc. We were already annoyed as before this year they did one Christmas off and ln and then changed it to a lottery system this year but we’re making the most of it

I guess it would depend on what his contract says.

Check the contract for entitlement. They can't just change it unilaterally
