I should point out that for us the first symptoms were actually on the first morning, which means my dad brought it with him. That’s the issue with testing 3 days before a flight. He’d just had the flu vaccine which didn’t help. Then I lost my sense of smell and we sought tests (as we’d forgotten to take some nhs ones). Ended up with CVS at home tests - 2 for $24.

Side note, I was pleasantly surprised at how about 95% of staff everywhere were wearing masks indoors. Everyone else was 50/50. No social distancing with queues.

There’s nothing set up with regards to quarantining, track and trace etc and never will be. Obviously you’re expected to (and should) isolate for 10 days but nothing is enforced.

We were in a villa and had 2 weeks left, so it wasn’t an issue for us.
Personally if I failed my coming home test I’d call the airline to rearrange my flight and book a villa to see out my 10 days, which should be covered with insurance.

1 - You’d have to test negative within 48 hours of your flight and get your fit to fly certificate, same as with everyone else.
2 - read your insurance policy.
