Costa Coffee - How Much!

I don’t get the fascination with coffee shops either - overpriced...but I did get a taste for the Joffrey coffee at Disney last week (never actually brought one), just used the free sachets & coffee machine in the room every day !

In our house it is called "Cost a fortune"

The only time we use one is at Gatwick arrivals when waiting for our son or daughter to pick us up.

We are season tickets holders with a West London Club who are still in the FA Cup and on match days we take a flask of hot water, two mugs and tea bags with us for half time and sandwiches.

But tonight we went to see the lights at Kew with all the family. a Cappuccino cost £3.50, Tea was the same and on the walk round a Mulled Wine was £5.00

We have a small independent coffee shop close to us and we try to go there two or three times a week, time permitting. We think it's important to "use it or lose it".

It's a lovely spot. The proprietor, who has just left a career with the police to set it up, has a real eye for design which shines through all aspects of his shop.

A latte for Mrs B, a pot of earl grey for me and a slice of cake to share will cost us £7-8 which I think is decent value for the quality of the drinks, cake and the ambience of the shop. Their loyalty cards also offer 1 free drink for each 8 bought.

Frankly, I'd pay more to support them. I wouldn't visit if it were one of the mega chains like Costa or Starbucks.

The nearest I get to Costa is being gifted a Starbucks gift card by my sons fiancées mum that I have never met! £50 should get 3 of us a hot drink and sandwich and maybe a slice of cake to share! (Who am I kidding I’m not sharing!) Went to Costa once last year and had hot chocolate! Only a mad person would go there everyday!
