Mobile "Club" RunDisney... another cash grab

Anyone else see this new initiative(!) by Disney.
You can join Club Run Disney at Silver Gold and Platinum levels, and depending on your chosen level, you will be able to get preferred coralls (dangerous if you can "buy" a higher corral in my opinion), buy a guaranteed bib/ entry to race etc etc.
Really puts everything out to the highest bidder. And puts even more of Disney out of people's reach.
I adore Disney, I love being there but it's so expensive now, and with the curtailment of hours in some cases due to the "extra (payment) hours" events, it's becoming ever further out of reach of the ordinary holiday maker.
RunDisney events are super, once they start chipping away at them...

I spotted it this morning. However you get early access to the shop to buy merchandise.

Wow. Let me think about it for 2 seconds. Mmmm, No!

Oooo dear!
Large races should have chorales by time, for safety! (And certainly park run and other organised events I’ve been to have done that!)
I’m all for privileged events, but Disney are going Ott! It certainly makes a run Disney event somewhat less obtainable (though if my 2021 trip happens to co inside with a 10K... )

Another revenue stream for Disney to explore I guess. Nobody has to participate (in addition to race fees) - I most certainly won’t be!

I question how they will safely manage the corral situation though. I wonder if purchasing the pass would guarantee access to the first wave of each corral rather than a different corral altogether? I can’t think of another way to tick a notional safety box but give a theoretical head start? Or perhaps they care less about the safety element...

Karen. Please believe me I wouldn't be at one of these events! Now if it was the 10 yard ex smokers dash then maybe.

However I can well believe people getting into a frenzy for the gear. Most weird.

Could someone inform RunDisney France of this because they will put people any-old-where regardless of the estimated time you've given them.

My first half in 2017, friends and I all put 3hrs30 (except one friend who has done many half marathons before and was much quicker) and every one of us was corral C (including quicker friend) except one person who was assigned the corral above. No rhyme or reason to it!

I find the whole run Disney thing an almighty rip off anyway. They even charge money for a run around Crescent Lake in an ‘Organised’ run- it’s 1.3k for God’s sake, me and Mrs YT do something amazing, and run around it gratis 3 times- for free would you believe!
Disney never stops monetising. The joke about fresh air is not too unbelievable.
