Announcement - I'm retiring

Sorry chaps it's not the dibb I'm retiring from.

Some of you will know that I joke about how hard I work (usually a couple of days a week), but in all seriousness I have decided it's not worth the hassle and overheads for me to continue working. So as of early April this year I am retiring and will be a house husband.

I have so many jobs to do in and out the house, plus more me time to enjoy myself. I have a fairly good pension from a company I spent most of my life working for, so I won't go hungry

I might do some dog walking in the future, but I'm not rushing into that as I don't want to be tied down every day.

So as of April I can officially call myself a retired person, although I have a few years yet until I get the state pension.

Congratulations!
Will you be returning to work after Christmas prior to you retiring or not?

Lol, I have just spent 2 days smashing out walls fitting 10 double sockets for a customer and questioning why I am doing this when I don't need to.

Welcome to the club Mickey which I joined at Christmas 2015 just a month short of my 70th birthday. I'd been Quantity Surveying since August 1962 a mere 16 year old youth.

Thought the DIBB would make a change from face to face arguments on building sites with 25 stone groundworkers. Well it is most of the time.

Mick

Fair play to you Mick that really is quite an achievement. Mind you some of the ladies on the dibb scare me more than a 25 stone groundworker would

Happy Retirement!

Dog walking can be very lucrative but the insurance is mind blowing expensive ! I have expired so for a hobby fine but to make money hard (in Peak District May be cheaper elsewhere)

Will be see a dip in Costa Coffee profit announcement being made ?

I do a little work out most days when I'm not working, and enjoy long walks and cycling in the woods with my electric mountain bike I bought last years, so I will get even more exercise retiring.

I would never leave my dibb family because I love you all.

If the insurance is too expensive I won't bother.

I have started having more costa filter coffee at home, so I'm not always going to costa on a daily basis.
