It’s our 25th wedding anniversary in June but as I work in a school it’s difficult to do anything around the exact date. So I’m planning 4 nights away in May.
I quite fancy Croatia but don’t know where to start. Can anyone recommend a hotel/area or give me any tips.

We went to Croatia for the first time in October and stayed just outside Dubrovnik. We absolutely loved it. We’ll definitely go back and explore more of Croatia.

Ah so glad you asked !

Every time somebody asks for a quick weekend away I say the same thing !

Trogir. It's a couple of km from split airport. Easy transfers. Beautiful old town (UNESCO world heritage site) with easy day trip access to split by boat.

Absolutely recommend. And I do regularly ! 😉

We love Croatia! We normally fly to Split and then catch the quick ferry to Hvar. It is lovely and you can visit all the small islands (Jerolim and Stipanska -Carpe Diem Beach is awesome) by water taxi for the day. There are more islands but if you are only there for a couple days they are perfect.

Definitely recommend split.
We visited for the first time last September & would definitely return.
So much to do.
We visited hvar,krka national park,trogir,omis & another island but the name escapes me.
The town itself is lovely.
We stayed in an Airbnb,which was really central.

We loved Croatia - we went to Cavtat first which is very close to Dubrovnik and following recommendations on here are going to Trogir in August and I can’t wait 😀 I would have been happy enough to go back to Cavtat but we want to visit the waterfalls which is nearer to Trogir .
