The Incredibles take a vacation - Feb 2020- Day 10- travel home (House of Blues)

We toyed was it the idea of heading into a park for a last ride or two, but decided against it. Instead we had a leisurely start before heading to Disney Springs. Dash wasn’t happy about getting up this morning or about handing his backpack to left luggage. The bell hop offered him a pin off the trading board to appease him and he chose a snowman one that wouldn’t stay on its clasp. We headed off then to Disney Springs ahead of schedule. Predictably it was too windy for the balloon to be up so we couldn’t even squeeze that in.





Instead, we got in the queue for our ADR for the house of blues gospel brunch. It was quite warm outside, but freezing in in the venue. Consequently, so was the brunch. The food was ok, but not the main attraction. It was an hour before the show started and it was a really good way to round off the trip. It was a little short though- only 30 minutes of music.



Dash was much more enthusiastic at this and was dancing along. We even got to chat with the singers on the way out. We splurged on a Minnie van back to AKL. It’s twice the price of a normal Lyft, but you do get the Disney experience thrown in.



We bought the kids a new pin each and Dash traded his one from earlier for an evil Queen one. The kids watched cartoons in the lobby whilst I rinsed the remaining snack credits. We literally have a suitcase full of sweets and snacks. It was time then for the magical express. We had to pick up at Art of Animation en route, but we were entertained by cartoons and quizzes- much better than the arrival leg.





We managed to squeeze in a couple of drinks in the airport to use the last of our currency before boarding. Our seats were in dibbers row and as the plane was half empty, we spread out across all 6 seats. There wasn’t even anyone sat in front of violet and I. The bubble was definitely worth it. The service was better, as was the space. It was a smoother flight too. I rewatched Maleficent and then saw Once upon a time in Hollywood (typical Tarantino). The tomato gnocchi was good, but the rest of the food wasn’t great. The kids managed a couple of hours sleep- more than usual for them on flights, but still not enough- it took them so long to drift off that I almost wish the flight was longer. It didn’t take long to get through the airport and we were back home just after 7am.
