I’ve had a PE and was told to wear them on all flights.
I do wear them, for the reason mentioned about but also prior to my PE my ankles did swell on flights and flight socks do reduce this. I put them on as soon as possible and leave them on as long as possible afterwards.

I had never even thought of wearing them before until I read this thread. My ankles and legs so swell when I fly long haul and can feel uncomfortable for a day or so after. This is despite not being overweight and being very fit. Would it be worth speaking to the practice nurse and asking advice or the pharmacist?
