You can get some good indirects but with Virgin for example they may not come up much less than TC direct. I would track TC prices and keep an eye out for any flash sales they might do, sometimes they drop £50 off a flight price without making a big fuss, every little helps.
thanks really helpful. we flew with tc last year and had a great experience but like a lot of other people a little wary of booking with them right now.
virgin are coming out at about £300 more than tc for all 5 of us but thats a lot of money for us!

Hiya Tinker, we fly VA from Man, either direct and drive to SW Fl or indirect via Atl to RSW, used LastMinute (via Quidco for cash back) a few times. In 2015 Aer Lingus cancelled our 6.50am Dub to Man flight. LM on the ball, agreed to my alternative, sorted immediately. Current LM fare for off-peak PE, Man to MCO, is £714pp with 2% cashback (VA fare is £933pp), may be worth checking LM for your dates. Good luck

Have you considered indirect via dublin for pre-clearance? this way your time in the second airport is not wasted and when you arrive you can head straight out of the airport without the immigration queue from hell!

Depends if it’s school holidays. If it is, forget any decent prices direct Virgin or anyone, if you pay £900 for Virgin in school holidays you’ve done well. Outside, they do have sales.

Outside school holidays indirect, some bargains can be found, via Atlanta or Philadelphia for example, I particularly like changing at Philadelphia, it is an excellent airport. Dublin with pre clearance used to be good, but I haven’t seen many cheap prices from there recently.

I second Philly as a nice airport, all in one building and not too big.

Think Virgin have one about August or September I have managed this morning to book our flights with my miles with Virgin thought I would not be able to get 7 seats on the same flight, but we are all on 9.55am flight. Thomas Cook was cheaper than Virgin when I looked this morning. Only book when you are happy with the price. Also the sales sometime the price is more so make sure to double check the prices as last year I wanted May this year it was cheaper 4 weeks before the sale.
