Mark, I wasn't offended in the least. You obviously feel strongly about certain 'fast food' establishments. My own opinion (for what it's worth) is that there should be a choice of places to eat, and it is up to the individual (or parents) to decide what is best for them. I am not a particular fan of McD's but I do like their grilled chicken salads, and in Florida they have a fruit and yoghurt parfait to finish off. Ideal for a simple snack, when I don't want anything more fillling.

The truth about the 2006 cut has not been made public, but here are some facts:

McDonalds has been getting a lot of bad press, although it has been tailing off slightly in recent years IMHO.

As I understand it, Walt himself was never a McDonalds fan, although I believe he respected the business he just didn't want it in the parks. He rejected Ray Kroc's (McD's marketer at the time) offer of a restaurant in Disneyland.

When Disney announced they were pulling out of Happy Meals in 2006, McDonalds got quite upset about it and denied it had anything to do with health concerns. Disney just said they wanted to deal with tie-ins on a case-by-case basis.
