Child travelling without parents

Hi, does anyone know if you need a letter or something official for a child to travel to Florida with grandparents but without the parents going? Any info appreciated.

We took our grand kids away with us on our last November trip without their parents and had a letter signed by them and ourselves stating parental permission was given to us for the dates of the holiday, stating who their doctor was and that we have medical rights whist away etc etc.

We'be had one with us before when taking grand kids away and its never been looked at, this last time though the Virgin check in person asked to see a permission letter.

The immigration officer on the other side asked my 7 year old grand daughter who i was and the 2 year old shouted thats 'awesome grandad super hero'

before the 7 year old could speak! They checked the letter also.

You can get letters read to print online just adapt them as needed. Get both parents to sign and make sure all contact details are on there.
