Virgin LHR to Miami changed to 787-9
Word of warning if you have booked LHR - Miami.
We travel in October19 and booked months again and had window and adjacent aisle seats booked on Airbus A330 with 2-4-2 seating. By fluke checked my booking todays and outbound changed to 787-9 which has 3-3-3 configuration in economy, and we had been allocated seats in D and G so the centre with someone in between us! No email notification of the change and annoyed our seats were separated however managed to change them so sat together Thought I would pass on the info in case anyone else impacted. |

I have flown the Virgin 787s to NY, California and Atlanta in recent years. They were lovely and imho a vast improvement on their 747s (other than in the bubble).
Sad to hear that it has messed up your seating plans.

I noticed mine has also changed from 2-3-2 to 3-3-3. I now have the middle and end of isle seats in 2 rows. We originally had 2 rows of 2. I don’t know whether to change to the window and end of isle now or leave as is in the hope that people won’t want to cross 2 other strangers to head to the loo? We go end of next month and I think there’s still 30 odd seats available

No they didn’t. I thought I had messed up my seats originally but then I realised the plane had actually changed 🙁

This happened to us too.We fly on 9th August. There are 2 families travelling and we have all been split up- I had no contact from anyone. My husband and I and our 11 year old were put in 46, my 16 year old 1 seat in 56 and my cousin and her family seats 59. I was fuming, the flight was full but managed to snag 1 seat next to my cousin and change my 16 year olds seat. I'd promised to help with their 18month old so I'd made sure we were all together. Ill just have to walk her up and down the plane no if she starts getting bored x

Your post was very helpful. Thank you.
They placed me and son 1 in a middle-row, with my husband and son 2 right behind us. Our friends got their seats the same way, but five or six rows behind us. We're now at the back of the plane with 4 seats (G-K) in two rows behind each other. |
