Mobile Flight connections at jfk

A dibber post about a short connection time at jfk a while ago.
We just come in on sunday and the immigration was fine waited longer for our luggage than immigration but they have a quick connection option if your next flight is less than 2 hours .you just speak to the staff show your next boarding card and they will help you get through to get your connection.
Hope that helps

Ooo. Good to hear. We have a 2hr connection coming up next month (due to schedule changes) and I have posted about it - so it might have been me! Thanks for posting! Do you speak to staff whilst you are queuing for immigration and tell them you have a tight connection?

Unless you are pre-clearing immigration at Dublin, your luggage will not go right through on an outbound flight.

It is a requirement to clear US immigration and customs at the first point of entry, unless pre-clearing. You have to collect checked bags and drop them off after customs.

If it’s on the return, bags will go straight through on a single ticket

Just a general comment on this thread, the connection experience at JFK will depend somewhat on the airline(s) involved. There 6 terminals at JFK, 4 of which handle international arrivals with their own immigration and customs. The OP hasn’t mentioned airlines or terminal(s), though I suspect terminal 4. It could be different elsewhere at JFK, e.g. a BA to AA connection requires a landside terminal change.
